'Connection over correction' is my guiding philosophy; whether at school or at home, let's work on meeting them where they are. There is no one-size-fits-all approach: every child's nervous system and wiring Is unique.
Children are supported by many caregivers - parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, teachers and school staff - If we want children to thrive, we must support the caregivers, too.
My workshops help caregivers understand children’s developmental needs and walk away with practical, neuro-affirming strategies they can use right away. Through hands-on experiences and real-life examples, participants gain tools to create more inclusive, supportive environments. We explore attention, coordination, emotional regulation, and behavior through a compassionate lens and understanding that behavior is communication.
Examples of workshops:
“Connection Over Correction: Understanding the 'Why' in the Classroom” where the focus Is on learning about neurodiversity, connection, dysregulation and how to de-escalate meltdowns. We learn that behaviors are communication and examine the many different reasons why they are behaving that way and what they are communicating.
“From Fidgets to Focus: Cracking the Sensory Code” where we learn all about sensory systems, sensory Integration and how to Integrate sensory activities Into your home and classroom. We sometimes get messy with shaving cream and we complete tasks set up In a way that mimic what It might feel like to be In your child's shoes.
“Big Moves, Little Hands: The Motor Magic Behind Learning” where we learn about how children's brains develop a body map, how they move, how that helps them learn and play and plenty of easy to Integrate tools to support weaker muscles and eye-hand coordination. :
"Growing Together at Home" where we have a gentle conversation on supporting and nurturing your child’s growth. We explore simple ways to understand their world and help you feel more confident and cared for along the way.
