Caregivers Share Their Experiences Working With Robyn Herman
"Our son was struggling with sensory integration, which manifested as trouble reining in big emotions at school and at home. Someone suggested OT therapy might help, but the waitlists to get him seen were 6 months to a year. Desperate to find some solutions we could put in place to help him right away, I booked a session with Robyn to see if she could give me some suggestions. What a gift that hour-long session was! She gave me an incredible overview of sensory processing disorder so I could understand what it is and see how that was contributing to my son's struggles. She also gave me tons of tips and suggestions my husband and I could implement with him right away. He has yet to be seen by an Occupational Therapist, but my husband and I are already observing positive changes in his behavior from the strategies we learned from Robyn. Absolutely worth the time and investment and we're ready to book a second session to discuss strategies to support him at school. Such a powerful resource for parents of exceptional kids!"

"My name is Sara and I'm a mom of five young children. I have been teaching in an early childhood center for over 15 years. I have had the privilege of working side by side with Robyn both professionally and in my personal life as well. Robyn understands the needs of each child. She trained me on how to work with each child so that his/her needs are met. She gave me practical suggestions and always followed up to make sure that the treatment plan was working. She stays at your side modeling and instructing until she believes you are independent with the skill she is working on. Robyn is highly professional and compassionate. I am sad that she moved away since I feel I lost a mentor."
-Sara Schwartz, mom, teacher, school administrator, Brooklyn
"Robyn was the most sought-after occupational therapist in our school. The years that I was lucky enough to have Robyn work with my students was quite a learning experience for me. She not only helped the children advance, but I learned so much about children’s needs and milestones. She also taught our staff many, many strategies during the professional development sessions she created and instructed. We all gained so much knowledge that we still use in the classroom, even after Robyn has moved on to a different locale. Robyn is a lovely, warm, and giving human being who strives to help children (and adults) be the best that they can be! She maintains a professional, yet uber friendly relationship with her clients. I know I speak for many teachers and therapists when I say that we miss Robyn!"
-Rachel R., M.S.spEd, MDY, Brooklyn
"Robyn exceeded all my expectations as a therapist while she was working with one of my twins. I remember feeling so lucky to have her work with my daughter because she always stood out as one of the best therapists. She taught me as a parent and my daughter was able to succeed because of her."
-Lisa, Brooklyn
"What can I say but good things about Robyn Herman! Robyn worked with two of our children. Our children struggled with motor and processing delays. Her professionalism, personality, and concern for our children was truly commendable and made us feel welcome and comfortable. With a solid foundation in an array of treatment models, Robyn was able to treat the whole child by addressing their sensory and motor needs, as well as supporting their cognitive, social-emotional and language development. Robyn has truly changed our children’s life. Forever grateful!"

"Robyn was generous to speak to me about my concerns regarding middle school student. She was super knowledgeable and reassuring. Robyn guided me on what I should be keeping an eye out for and gave tools to help assess and assist my student. If I continue to have a need for an Occupational Therapist, I will confidently be reaching out to Robyn."
-Melanie H., Maplewood, NJ
"We have the fondest memories of the care and expertise Robyn showered our daughter Gitty with in the years she was her OT!! I would say all her patients are lucky to get a therapist as dedicated and capable as her!!"
-Gitty and mom, Williamsburg
"Alyse loved working with Robyn. I still have the rock crayons she recommended and use them with my younger daughter now. I remember Robyn gave Alyse a sensory diet that was really helpful. She was very professional and gave great tips to work on with my daughter at home."
-Alyse and mom, Midwood
"My son saw Robyn for a year while in Pre-K and she was a pleasure to work with. He looked forward to his sessions which included activities that were turned into fun games (wiki sticks was a favorite). Robyn worked hand in hand with his teachers to ensure he was also making progress in the classroom. I was very impressed with his notebook that had all of the work organized each session, it was very easy to see what he was working on, practice at home and see how much growth he was making along the way. We were very lucky to find Robyn when we did!"
